Kingfrey Musaka is the Human Resource Officer based in our central office in Ndola, Zambia. He shares what a typical day is like, what education means to him, and the greatest influence on his career.

What is your role at PEAS?

My role at PEAS Zambia is being the Human Resources Officer.

What does a typical day involve?

Currently, I am doing a lot of policy review and revision while check compliance with Zambian laws – employee welfare and policy development.

What is the best thing about working for PEAS?

The working culture and potential for personal and career growth.

What are the biggest challenges?

Striking a balance between departments and ensuring HR best practices are adhered to.

What do you hope to achieve in your role over the next year?

To have a strong Human Resources department with strong HR processes and policies that support both the organization and employees.

What does education mean to you?

Education to me means using acquired knowledge to enhance one’s standard of living as well as using the knowledge for the benefit of the community.

What is the greatest influence on your career?

My career is most influenced by what my contributions are towards what I am doing and the impact it makes. On the other hand, being able to have a work-life balance.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Continue growing knowledge and wisdom and be innovative.
